AUSTIN (KXAN) - A new era for Austin City Limits emerges on Thursday, Feb. 24, with a special opening night show that includes an already-sold-out seated dinner at $500 per ticket for the momentous event staged by KLRU-TV.
Ticket prices for balcony seats at The Moody Theater at the W Austin are priced at $150 each and going fast after a weekend ACL fundraising pitch on KLRU-TV wherein the event was publicized. Seating assignments are made in the order of purchase, according to ACL Live staff.
Opening night features a special performance by Steve Miller Band as the headliner. Others on the bill include Carolyn Wonderland, Elizabeth McQueen and DJ Chicken George.
The event will feature an unveiling of the new skyline backdrop , which fans are sure to compare, like or dislike, to the historic backdrop of Austin's skyline made famous by the Austin City Limits television show.
Sponsors of the opening event include The Moody Foundation, Cirrus Logic, 2nd Street District, W Austin and Strauts Properties.
A first taping date for the ACL television show has not yet been announced.
