Pet of the Week: meet Dinah

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Dinah is a one-year-old lovely pit bull mix who is looking for a home.

Dinah came into the shelter after her owner surrendered her after moving to a small home.

Employees at the TLAC say that she was a sweet girl on the day she arrived. One of the staffers went to take off the harness she was wearing and instead of being afraid, she gave kisses.

Dinah is potty trained, enjoys chasing balls and really loves contact with people.

Pit bull mix breeds can sometimes scare off an adoptee. TLAC hopes that Dinah and other pit bull mixes will find someone who can look past the breed stereotype.

Austinites came together on Sunday to celebrate National Pit Bull Awareness Day with a parade. In addition, pit bull advocates were present to provide education on the breed.
