New Alamo Drafthouse to open

'400 Rabbits Club' members get discounts

AUSTIN (KXAN) - The Alamo Drafthouse family is growing once again. A grand opening of Austin's newest dinner theater is set for March 22 at MoPac Boulevard and Slaughter Lane.

A unique feature of the newest Alamo Drafthouse location is the "400 Rabbits Lounge" where movie-goers can hang out, eat and drink, before and after the feature presentation.

Also the Alamo is forming a select group of VIPs, called "400 rabbits." Those lucky 400 people will be chosen by various methods, including a Facebook scavenger hunt, activity on Twitter and as a surprise bonus for regular customers.

"There's a pretty good size discount all year long, given to 400 people, so any time they visit the 400 Rabbits Club, they get discounts, but only for those 400 people who are part of the 400 Rabbits Club," said owner Tim League.

In the meantime, in addition to the new theater in Austin, League said there are plans to open locations in Washington, DC and San Francisco.
