TOULOUSE, France (NBC) - The French-Italian satellite program called Pleiades is preparing a second satellite for both civilian and military use.

Pleiades-Astrium released high-resolution photos of the Eiffel Tower, the Tokyo Tower and ships in port in an unnamed city in the United States -- all taken by Pleiades One.

When Pleiades Two is launched, the satellites will cover the globe every 26 days.

The satellites are able with repeated passes of the same area to produce 3D photos as well.
