ALEXANDRIA, La. (CNN/KALB) - The elementary students at one Alexandria, La., school were very sweet on Monday.

They decked out in red and white, forming the shape of this peppermint candy for a Christmas photo.

It was viewed from above with the help of the fire department.

The school is making greeting cards to send to others schools in the district and community members.

“We pride ourselves in sending a unique Christmas card every year, and we got together this year wanting to make a very special greeting,” said Principal Bonnie Lord. “It’s our way of saying, ‘Thank you, and Merry Christmas’ to all our supporters, to our community, to our families. So we got together as a school family to make a human peppermint.”

More than 700 kids from grades pre-K to fifth participated, plus 85 faculty members.
