LIMA, Peru (NBC/RTV) - Christmas went to the dogs in Lima, Peru, on Sunday.
More than 60 dogs took center stage at the Christmas parade and contest.
They were dressed as reindeer, elves and even Santa Claus himself.
A local organizer said the event helps remind people that dogs are a big part of the family during the holidays.
A Chihuahua won the Small Dogs category, dressed as Mrs. Claus, while a schnauzer won in a reindeer costume.
