(NBC) - Michael Jackson fans collect their golden tickets to Tuesday's memorial service at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Monday, they are streaming in and out of Dodger Stadium to get their tickets and wristbands. About 11,000 people will be admitted to the Staples Center, with another 6,500 watching from an overflow center next door. These fans truly feel they won the lottery.
One woman came from Texas, her tickets were from a winner who did not want them. The man, a stranger, saw her on television talking about wanting tickets and gave them to her.
"And, then, last night, 10 o'clock, I get this buzz on my phone and it says 'You know, you won,' and I'm like, 'Oh, it's lying," said Tamara Binns. "So, I check online, I still don't trust it, I do everything it tells me, I print it out and still am like, 'it's lying, it's not real,' and here are my tickets and my wristband."
"He said he didn't want anything, he was just playing around online actually at his cousin's house in Houston and he was, you know, he entered for the drawing to win the tickets and he didn't," said Michelle Johnson. "He checked his e-mail and wow, he had won and he wasn't going to use them. He saw us on TV and was like, 'I'll give them to these nice, young ladies."
