AUSTIN (KXAN) - No money? No problem!

Free SXSW shows are like finding the woman in the bar who buys you beer -- a good cheap-drunk time. And the Bloodshot Records showcase at the Yard Dog Gallery in SoCo is one of the longest-running and most beloved of these at SXSW.

On March 18 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., The Yard Dog is featuring Born Ruffians, Freelance Whales, The Hood Internet, Japandroids, Maps and Atlases, The Rural Alberta Advantage, The Smith Westerns, and We Were Promised Jetpacks.

The South Congress venue is actually a "Deep South" folk art gallery, but the shows will be outside.  Bloodshot Records, the Chicago independent label which specializes in outlaw country, will be hosting the event alongside Budweiser.

Born Ruffians, who were recently featured on MTV's On the Radio, are reportedly great in concert. They sound a bit like Vampire Weekend but happen to strike a nice balance by not wearing sunglasses and having a wider style - which includes some folk, blues, and acoustic.

Not to mention, they also have some weird music videos. In one's like "I need a life" they are shown with chickens and bloody noses.
