AUSTIN (KXAN) - Fortune Chinese Seafood Restaurant joined KXAN Austin News during Tasty Thursday to cook up an easy, tasty dish: yang chow fried rice.
Recipe serves four.
Ingredients
- 32 oz already-cooked steamed rice
- 3 oz peeled and deveined Shrimp (size 40/50)
- 3 oz BBQ - diced
- 4 oz frozen peas and carrots
- 1 egg
- 2 stems chopped green onion
- 1 oz vegetable oil
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tsp Chicken Bouillon Powder
- 1 pinch White Pepper Powder
- *** The above four items need to be premixed together.
Directions
- Heat wok first, and then pour in oil and heat oil for approximately 30 seconds to one minute, depending on heat of flame.
- Break in one egg and scramble for one minute.
- Then, add shrimp and cook for another minute.
- Mix in peas and carrots and BBQ pork, and stir fry for one minute.
- Add cooked rice and mix together stir fry for another two minutes.
- Add in premixed sauce and stir fry for another minute until all the rice has a brown tint.
- Lastly, mince in green onions, or you may garnish the top after plated.
