Yang chow fried rice

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Fortune Chinese Seafood Restaurant joined KXAN Austin News during Tasty Thursday to cook up an easy, tasty dish: yang chow fried rice.

Recipe serves four.

Ingredients

  • 32 oz already-cooked steamed rice
  • 3 oz peeled and deveined Shrimp (size 40/50)
  • 3 oz BBQ - diced
  • 4 oz frozen peas and carrots
  • 1 egg
  • 2 stems chopped green onion
  • 1 oz vegetable oil

 

  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp Chicken Bouillon Powder
  • 1 pinch White Pepper Powder
  • *** The above four items need to be premixed together.

 

Directions

  1. Heat wok first, and then pour in oil and heat oil for approximately 30 seconds to one minute, depending on heat of flame.
  2. Break in one egg and scramble for one minute.
  3. Then, add shrimp and cook for another minute.
  4. Mix in peas and carrots and BBQ pork, and stir fry for one minute.
  5. Add cooked rice and mix together stir fry for another two minutes.
  6. Add in premixed sauce and stir fry for another minute until all the rice has a brown tint.
  7. Lastly, mince in green onions, or you may garnish the top after plated.
