AUSTIN (KXAN) - Verde's Mexican Parrilla cooks up pollo palomino for Tasty Thursday.

The grilled chicken breast is topped with a fresh roasted poblano, Monterrey jack cheese, poblano cream sauce and avocado.

Also accompanying the dish is fresh roasted corn sautéed with pico de gallo and topped with a chipotle mayo.

The restaurant also features bacon-wrapped quail, chipotle-glazed pork chop and chile a la parrilla.

Verde's Mexican Parrilla is having a fundraiser on Sunday to benefit Helping Hands and the Dripping Springs United Methodist Church Preschool, called The Kids CAN Mission. It will be on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The benefit will have bounce houses, face painting, live music and great food!

All you have to do is bring five canned goods, and you even get a free queso to start. In the meantime, you can bring your canned goods all week to Verde's and help support the community, as the kids from the preschool will be stocking the shelves at Helping Hands.

The event is $20 for adults and $5 for children.
