Mel's Meals brings in flourless cake

Interesting spin on a dessert favorite

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Melissa Sterns, founder of Mel's Meals, joins KXAN News at Noon for Tasty Thursday with an interesting spin on a dessert favorite: flourless chocolate cake.

The the No. 1-selling dessert at Mel's Meals is simple to bake.

 

Flourless Chocolate Cake
(Yield: 12 containers)
Ingredients:
¾ c chocolate chips
3 whole eggs
¼ c raspberries, frozen
½ c butter, house made
½ c cocoa powder

Directions:
1.    Heat chocolate and butter in heavy saucepan over low heat until melted and combined. Remove from heat.
2.    Add cocoa powder to melted chocolate mixture.
3.    Beat eggs and whisk into each silicon muffin cup. Press frozen raspberries into the top of each cake.
4.    Bake in oven at 350F for 6-8 minutes, insuring that the centers are still slightly gooey.

Packaging:
Package in sundae cups with doomed lids with 1 cake per container.
