AUSTIN (KXAN) - Animals at the Austin Humane Society desperately need new homes and the shelter is without air conditioning.
A transformer near the Austin Humane Society, located at 124 West Anderson Lane , blew around 4 a.m. Sunday.
A spokesperson for the shelter said all of their air conditioning units motors seized up after the transformer blew and are no longer working.
Repair crews had to order replacement parts and the units will be offline until Monday or Tuesday.
Due to the emergency situation the over 200 pets at the Humane Society will be adopted out free of charge.
