AUSTIN (KXAN) - Sandra Bullock sat down with the Today Show's Matt Lauer Tuesday morning.

The main focus of the interview was her passion for helping to rebuild New Orleans. Her adopted son was born there.

Bullock also talked about getting through her break up and staying out of the public eye, by retreating to places like Austin.

The star returned to New Orleans for the five-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, visiting the high school she helped rebuild for a ribbon-cutting of an on-campus health clinic.

Bullock's contribution, along with grants from the Kellogg Foundation and the San Francisco 49ers Foundation, helped build the new clinic at Warren Easton Charter High School.
