Austin DJ in Top 10 for 'Regis & Kelly'

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin’s Bobby Bones -- a DJ on 96.7 KISS FM -- has made it to the Top 10 in the LIVE! with Regis and Kelly "Men of Radio" Contest.

Austinites are asked to vote between now and Jan. 16 to make Bones one of the Top 5, each of whom will host one day on-air with co-host Kelly Ripa.

Voters must register on the LIVE! with Regis & Kelly website by providing name and an e-mail address. There is no cost to register.

Voters are encouraged to then share it to Facebook and Twitter to get friends to support Bones.

The search was open to male radio broadcasters with regularly scheduled shows of any kind. After receiving tens of thousands of nominations, LIVE's producers narrowed the field to the Top 100, and Tuesday announced the 10 finalists, live on the air.

Now it’s again up to the viewers, this time to vote on the five broadcasters who will fly to New York to act as guest co-host. Voting started Tuesday at LiveRegisandKelly.com and ends at  6 p.m. ET, Sunday Jan.16, with the final line-up of guest co-hosts to be announced on Monday, Jan. 17.

Viewers can vote as often as they’d like every day, and will get more than the chance to possibly see their favorite radio personality on LIVE! - everyone who submitted a nomination or votes for the five co-hosts will have the opportunity to win one of 10 Krups home appliance gift packages awarded by random drawing.
