AUSTIN (KXAN) - One of Austin's most iconic record shops is turning the big 25! Antone's is kicked off 10 days of celebrations starting Thursday.
Twelve years after opening his legendary nightclub, Clifford Antone opened the doors to his record shop. At the time it was across the street from Antone's Night Club when it was on Guadalupe.
Antone passed away in 2006 and three of his workers came together to buy the record shop.
"It's amazing you know, a lot of small businesses right now are not able to survive. It's rough at times, but we've been able to keep it going for this long -- 25 years is a long time and we're so proud to have been a part of the staff and now the group of owners," said Eve Monsees.
Antone's is holding several in-store discounts to celebrate the big day.
They're also having a pretty big party at the 29th Street ballroom on Aug. 25 at 10 p.m.
