SEATTLE (AP) - Amazon.com is getting into the app-selling business.
The online retailer has opened an online store to market applications for smartphones and tablet computers. The apps will be available for those devices that run Google's Android operating system.
The store, which is now open, includes free and paid apps from Android software developers. Amazon said its app store will help users keep track of the more than 150,000 apps now available through Google's own Android Market store.
Amazon said it plans to use data on what you've bought from Amazon.com in the past to recommend apps it has to offer.
The Amazon app store will be available both online and in a mobile version.
