AUSTIN (KXAN) - KXAN's Amanda Dugan has this weekends "Weekend at the Movies."
It’s open season for dirty deeds in "Broken City." Russell Crowe plays the mayor of New York who's not exactly its most upstanding citizen. He hires Mark Wahlberg to spy on his wife, which seems like an easy payday for the former cop. But when the first lady's lover ends up dead, the mayor frames Wahlberg, forcing the street-smart detective to sacrifice everything for justice. "Broken City" is rated “R.”
Arnold Schwarzenegger is armed and dangerous in "The Last Stand." He's a small-town sheriff with battle scars from his days in the L.A.P.D. But when a drug lord escapes FBI custody in a customized Corvette, it's up to the lawman and his deputies to stop the king-pin from speeding through their town and into México. "The Last Stand" is rated “R.”
Orphaned girls survive in the wild in "Mama." Golden Globe winner Jessica Chastain and her on-screen boyfriend bring a pair of sisters to live with them, after the girls were found in a remote cabin following the murder of their mother. But that doesn't mean the girls were all alone. Far from it, as they move into their new home and bring some spooky supernatural baggage along with them. "Mama" is rated “PG-13.”
