AUSTIN (KXAN) - It's true. People actually volunteer to get up on stage and reveal the deepest, darkest secrets of their teen years in Mortified, which is described as "a comic excavation of the strange and extraordinary things we created as kids."

In its two-day run in Austin -- the second night being tonight -- eight people will take the stage to share the words and poetry of their teen years.

Pierce Purselley and Mike Graupmann were in studio on Saturdy morning to discuss the show, which is being launched around the country and has spawned both a television series and a future documentary.

For a taste of Mortified, you can go here or here .

The show is always looking for volunteers who want to share their teen years. Once people are picked, a producer works with them for about a month to put together the performance. People interested in volunteering for the project, which is staged quarterly in Austin, can go here. And you can follow the show on Twitter @Mortified.

Tonight's show is at the 29th Street Ballroom, 2908 Fruth Street. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door.
