Instructions on how to submit a PSA

    (KXAN) - KXAN Austin News and The CW Austin want to help your group or organization reach the community with important messages, event information, and programs. Due to the large volume of requests we receive for public service time, we cannot promise to air every announcement.

    The following guidelines will help us in our efforts to determine which requests provide the greatest impact for Austin and the surrounding Central Texas communities we serve:

    • Your PSA must be produced to conform to commercial television broadcast standards.
    • Subject matter should be presented in good taste.
    • Controversial, religious, or political topics will not be considered for air.
    • Your PSA should promote causes that enhance the quality of life in Austin and Central Texas.
    • Only tax-exempt organizations may provide PSAs. Please provide proof of tax-exempt status.
    • PSAs including commercial or for-profit organizations will not be considered for air.
    • PSAs may not include ticket prices or feature ticket distribution information.
    • PSAs should include a telephone number or website for more information.
    • PSAs should be submitted on DVD, DVC Pro, or Beta SP broadcast-grade videotape. Spot lengths accepted for consideration include :10, :15, :20, or :30 seconds.
    • Pre-produced PSAs must be received by the station at least six weeks prior to airdate.
    • All PSAs aired by the station will be tagged with station identification; your submission of PSAs to the station constitutes your consent for station identification to be added prior to air.

    For your convenience, your PSA will be reviewed by both KXAN and KNVA for alignment with community service goals and objectives. Please send only one copy of your PSA. Additional copies received will be recycled. Forward your PSA and supporting information to:
