AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin Dog Rescue introduced us to Roofus, a two-year-old retriever mix who is KXAN's Pet of the Week.

Here's what Austin Dog Rescue has to say about Roofus:

Meet Roofus! A super sweet, loveable boy with the softest, most soulful eyes that will melt your heart.  He's as sweet, affecttionate, and loveable as any dog could be and loves to give sweet kisses.

The moment we saw Roofus at the shelter, we instantly knew what a great dog he is, and boy we were right!  He loves playing with his foster brothers and sisters, but also enjoys his naptime! He loves to give sweet kisses to whoever will let him!  He's a quick learner and has already learn the sit command, and is working on his crate and potty training, and learning to walk well on a leash.

Roofus will make a great family member for most any person or family. A great size, not too big, not too small, and is healthy, happy and waiting for his family to come along!  So come meet Roofus and fall in L-O-V-E!

*All of our dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered before going to their forever home.  All have been tested and/or treated for heartworms, are age appropriately vaccinated, micro chipped, and come with 30 days free insurance.

Austin Dog Rescue will host a meet-and-greet event at Bangers on Rainey Street Saturday afternoon.
