Pet of the Week: Bella

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Kelly Smith of the Texas Humane Heroes who brought in our Pet of the Week Bella, a Great Pyrenees.

According to Texas Humane Heroes, Bella was a wonderful dog - gets along great with all animals and people alike. She originally arrived at Texas Humane Heroes as a mother of eight pups who will all be available soon for adoption, but Bella is ready to find her forever family now. And, unlike a puppy, Bella will require much less time acclimating to a new home and learning all her obedience skills and potty times.

Texas Humane Heroes was formed in January, a merger of the Humane Society of Williamson County and Cen-Tex Humane Society. It operates two adoption centers: one in Austin and another in Killeen/Fort Hood. The new website can be found here .

In addition, Texas Humane Heroes will host its 4th Annual Chili Cook-Off on Saturday. The event will be in Leander, at 10930 E Crystal Falls Parkway, with options to be a taste tester or judge.
