The week will begin with the Formula One themed Shift Into Style kickoff event at the Bob Bullock Museum at 8:30p.m. on August 10th.  The kickoff event will serve as the intersection between F1 Motorsports and fashion. The event will feature sportswear from Ferrari, race wear from local designer Linda Asaf, and a silent auction benefiting the Arc of the Capital Area.  The Circuit’s signature brand ambassadors, the “COTA Girls,” will also give the first look at fashions designed by Ross Bennett.

From Saturday, August 11th through Tuesday, August 14th, various boutiques and salons will hold showcase events, allowing local designers a chance to show their best works.  Many of these showcases will feature entertainment as well as provide great opportunities to purchase the hottest new fashions.

Beginning Wednesday, August 15th, the Driskill Hotel will host runways and a marketplace unveiling new lines for the fall.  Over the span of three days, 20 designers will have debuted their fall lines down the runway.  The marketplace will feature 14 different designers and offer a chance to pick up their latest creations.

On Saturday, August 18th, the Austin Fashion Awards will take place.  This event will celebrate the best Austin has to offer by recognizing Rising Stars, Trailblazers, and Mash Up Teams with the highly coveted Golden Boot.  Between the award presentations, runways will be held featuring designs from Ross Bennett, Kendra Scott, and Jessica Ciarla as well as models from the Mash Up Teams.

Following the Austin Fashion Awards will be the official after party, Spectra: The Finale. Presented by LIGHTfaktor, Spectra will combine “cutting edge fashion” with “mind bending lighting techniques” to produce an event unlike anything Austin has seen before.
