AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin area artists, galleries, museums, and arts organizations are encouraged to submit their artwork for the 2013 People’s Gallery exhibition.

The annual art exhibition extends throughout the first three floors of Austin City Hall and is designed to encourage discussion and appreciation of local visual art.

Submissions are being accepted for 2- and 3-dimensional artworks in any medium through Friday, Nov. 2.

Applications and as many as five digital images of the artists’ available artwork must be submitted via the ASAPP! online public art application system

Artists are encouraged to attend the Artist Information Meeting for more information about the application process on Friday, Sept. 28, at 6 p.m. in Room 1029 at City Hall, located at 301 W. Second St. Parking for attendees will be available in the City Hall garage.

In November, a selection panel of local arts professionals will review the submitted artworks for inclusion in the 2013 People’s Gallery exhibition, which will be on display from February 2013 through January 2014.

This year’s selection panelists are artist and 2012 Texas Prize recipient, Jeff Williams; accomplished painter, Werllayne Nunes; and program director at Women and Their Work, Rachel Koper.

The public is invited to view the 2012 exhibition at City Hall, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The current exhibition will be on display through Jan. 10.
