The 5th annual Dogtoberfest Austin is this Saturday, October 20th at the Domain from 10-4.
Dogtoberfest is an Austin-based, non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds and creating awareness about dog rescue. The event includes a silent auction, canine costume contest, pet-related demonstrations, and fun for everyone.
Dogtoberfest is pleased to announce that the Weiner Dog Races are back for this year's event. This crowd-pleaser will be hosted by the Central Texas Dachshund Rescue. You will not want to miss these adorable dogs running for the grand prize.
This year's costume contest categories include Most Creative, Best Owner/Dog Duo, Funniest, Best Superhero, and Best Overall. KXAN's own Shannon Wolfson, Erin Cargile, and Mark Monstrola will serve as judges.
Something new at this year's event is the 1st annual DogtoberTROT. Dog lovers and their canine companions will participate in a 1K trot around the Domain Phase II prior to heading to Phase I to kick-off Dogtoberfest. Visit dogtoberfestaustin.org to register now!
