AUSTIN (KXAN) - Pierre Filardi, the medical director for the LIVESTRONG marathon was in KXAN's studio on Saturday morning to discuss the medical side of long-distance running, including over hydration.

Filardi has been the Austin marathon director for a number of years. Last year, in particular, he saw serious overheating among the runners. He also has concerns about people who over-hydrate. Anyone who has concerns is encouraged to seek out the marathon's medical team.
