AUSTIN (KXAN) - The Dirty Girl Mud Run, an event to build female friendships and raise funds for breast cancer, will be in Austin on March 23.
The untimed event , for all ability levels, is less about winning and more about getting women out of their comfort zone. Teams are encouraged at the event, which raises funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Breast cancer survivors can compete for free.
Last year the event raised $250,000 for the foundation. This year the goal is $500,000.
This is the first time the event has made it to Austin. The Dirty Girl Mud Run will be at the Stunt Ranch on March 23 and kick off at 8 a.m. For more information, go to the run's website .
