BASTROP (KXAN) - A fun and tasty event could end up helping a lot of people in Central Texas.
The Texas chapter of the Chili Appreciation Society International held a chili cook off at Riverbend Park in Bastrop today. More than 50 cooks showed off their creations.
They're hoping to raise about $5,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation over the weekend. For more information about the event on Sunday, go to this site.
"Cooking chili is all about fund-raising," said association president Joe Trigo. "We raise money for local charities for scholarships. Its all about chili, charity, and fun. We really emphasize the fun part."
