AUSTIN (KXAN) - The company that was responsible for the fun and crazy "Austin Weird Face" billboard campaign has come up with another one, though more refined.

Reagan Outdoor Advertising is looking for local artists to enter its juried art competition. It has paired with Austin Visual Arts Association for the contest, "Austin Art Boards."

Ten Austin artists will be chosen to have their artwork reproduced in large scale and displayed on billboards throughout the Austin metro area over the next few years.

The deadline for submissions is June 24.

Specifications for entries are:

  • Submissions must be sized 6 inches x 24 inches. Out of scale pieces will not be accepted.
  • Pieces must be matted in black or white, 2-inch border; final size to be 10 inches x 28 inches
  • Digital files may be submitted at 300 dpi or as .PDF
  • All artwork is eligible: Mixed media, photo, ceramic, etc.
  • One entry per person. Artwork must be an original creation of the person submitting.
  • Artists must reside or be employed in either Travis, Williamson or Hays county

Jurors for the competition are:

  • Rachel Koper, program director, Women & Their Work
  • Gloria Mata Pennington, Former Chair, City of Austin Arts Commission
  • Dr. Mark Smith, Co-Founder and Co-Director, Flatbed Press
