AUSTIN (KXAN) - Natalie Young was a wife, mother and just 28 when she began fighting breast cancer.

Talking about the Race for the Cure Young says, "In the past I always just participated in the race, but now it means so much more."

The annual Komen Austin Race for the cure will be held Sunday, November 4 in downtown Austin.

The race will be Young's first as a survivor. She recently beat cancer after numerous surgeries and chemo treatments.

Racers can sign up for 5 dollars off the race through September 23 with the code: sc12five.

It is estimated that 20,000 will gather to race, volunteer, fundraise and support finding the cure.
