AUSTIN (KXAN) - Tonight at La Zona Rosa, Back in Brack, benefits technology for complex care at Brackenridge.

The hospital was opened in the 1880s as the first public hospital in Texas. The latest version of the hospital was finished in the 1980s. Guests are asked to celebrate the rich history by dressing in 80s gear or all black.

UMCB is the only adult Level I Trauma Center in Central Texas. It is also apart of the Seton family of hospitals.

Prop. 1 on Nov. ballot asks voters if they want a medical school in Austin. The school itself will cost an estimated $4.1 billion, drawn from federal sources, Seton Healthcare and the University of Texas.

Sydney Townsend from Seton explains, "We need more specialists and more primary care provides. And if you train somewhere, you stay within 70 miles of where you train."
