AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin is welcoming international residents with open arms on Saturday at a welcome orientation.
This weekend, Austin is hosting its first-ever Welcome to Austin Orientation Session, a day-long event packed with helpful to newcomers to the country. Topics to be discussed will include how to buy a house, manage personal finances, ride public transportation and save on utility bills.
Presentations will be in English, but topical written materials will be available in Spanish, Mandarin and Vietnamese. A Spanish-language version of orientation will be scheduled for March 2.
The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Austin City Hall, 301 W 2nd St. Free parking is available at City Hall, and free flue shots also will be offered.
