AUSTIN (KXAN) - Studios across Austin opened their dance floors to the public today, in the second annual Free Day of Dance .
From country two-step to bachata, lessons that normally come with a high price tag welcomed anyone willing to learn. The event invited both individuals and couples to participate in over two dozen varieties of dance tutorials.
Participating studios and clubs included Austin City Dance Club, Austin Uptown Dance, Arthur Murray Studio, Esquina Tango, Go Dance and Rhythmic Motion School of Dance.
Monica Caivano, director of Esquina Tango, said the event was a great opportunity to recruit new clients.
"It's really just a social activity that takes out your stress, your worries, and it's a physical activity," she said. "We sit around a lot these days, so it's just a great way of meeting people and learning something that you can take with you all your life."
