If they walk out in front of you, stop. Don't do anything. Let the dog realize they walked too far. It may be helpful to even back up a few steps to give them the hint.
They'll eventually learn that when they pull on their leash, they've gone too far.
It's important to be patient, but persistent with this training exercise. It may take awhile, your pup will catch on eventually.
